Iyede-Ame Community Protests Parallel Government, Solicits Delta  Government Intervention

The Iyede-Ame community in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of Delta State have staged a peaceful protest against a parallel government led by Mr. Imoninue Jesuhovie and others.

The parallel group members included Emebeyo Vote ,Atemeyo Johnson,Asure Gospel,Omue Awoture,Ofremu Oghale and Okiemor Churchill .

The community alleged that the group's activities are stalling development and warns that the Christopher Odjegba-led government will not be recognized.

The community claims the group is opposed to oil and gas exploration by SEEPCO/FHN/NEPL JV, which has been hindered due to threats of making the community ungovernable.

The community is seeking infrastructure development, employment opportunities, and social amenities, which they believe are lacking due to the group's activities.

 The community  appealed to the Delta State Government and security agencies to intervene and ensure peace and development in the area.

 

Community's Plea

 

The people of Iyede-Ame are calling for peace and development, emphasizing that they need the government's support to address their challenges.

 

They also appealed  to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to resist any pressure from the opposing group.

 

The Iyede-Ame protesters disclosed that they are peace loving people and urged Delta State Government and relevant agencies to address the community's concerns and provide support for development inorder to prevent a breakdown of law and order by the parallel leadership in the community .
